AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal today promised to generate about 25 lakh jobs in the state. He said this would be done by reviving sugar mills and setting up new agro-based industries for every cluster of 15-20 villages, where employing 80 per cent Punjabi youth would be mandatory.

While addressing a rally in Zira in favour of AAP candidate Gurpreet Singh Gora, Kejriwal alleged that the SAD-BJP and Congress governments had ruined the economy of the state by misusing power for their own vested interests. “There is no dearth of manpower and resources in Punjab. Only a strong political will is required to bring the state back on track,” he said, while citing an example of Delhi. Kejriwal said his predecessor used to quote bad fiscal health of Delhi but after the formation of AAP government, the economy had “started reviving” with the end of corruption.

Fatehabad (Khadoor Sahib): Addressing a rally here on Monday, Kejriwal promised that the defunct cooperative sugar mill at Sheron village would be revived. He also vowed to revive the country’s first industrial nucleus at Goindwal Sahib for employment generation. Speaking in support of party candidate from Khadoor Sahib constituency, Bhupinder Singh Bittu, Kejriwal reiterated that he would end drug menace in the state.
