MUMBAI, SEPTEMBER 1:
Sugar prices ruled steady on routine activities. Supply remained ample, while local demand remained need-based. Freight rates for Kolhapur increased by Rs.3-5 per bag but did not affect the markets. On the Vashi market, prices declined by Rs.10 at the higher side and ruled flat at the lower end. Naka and mill tender rates were steady. Arrivals and local dispatches were at par keeping market inventory stable at 110-115 truck loads. Arrivals increased to 59-60 truck loads and local dispatches were up at 60-61 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates:S-grade Rs.3,602-3,725 (3,602-3,735) and M-grade Rs.3,710-3,842 (3,690-3,852). Naka delivery rates: S-grade Rs.3,600-3,640 (3,600-3,640) and M-grade Rs.3,650-3,720 (3,650-3,720).
