Chatra: Three drug peddlers were arrested by the Simaria police on Sunday on charges of transporting 568gm brown sugar worth Rs 50 lakh in a car bearing the nameplate of president, Anti-Crime Organisation, Chatra, police said.

The criminals are Nesar Ansari of Mokatma, Md Rehan of Kanhachatti village under the Rajpur police station limits, and Pankaj Dangi of Chiridiri under the Sadar police station area.

The contraband, the car, a camouflage uniform, and a phone were seized from them. Simaria SDPO Ajay Kumar Kesri said the miscreants used to loot money from customers after showing them a sample of brown sugar. TNN
