The Ministry of Sugar has spent about $100,000 to cater for seven engineers who arrived from India last night to identify flaws in the sugar mills and workout repairs plans.

Sugar Minister Charan Jeath Singh said the budget set aside is much cheaper than paying for the services provided by the engineers.

“They will be here for next 10 days to inspect the equipment and machines we have and will give us a report on what further to do in the various sugar mills to help us prepare for this year’s crushing season,” he said.

“”This will help us increase production of sugar.”
