Uncertainty has loomed over sugar exports for the upcoming season in India. And now media report says that restrictions on sugar export may continue.

According to CNBC-TV18, government sources have said that restrictions on sugar exports will persist in the future. In the current season, the government imposed export restrictions on sugar due to lower production estimates in Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Several sugar industry organizations argue that there will be an ample supply of sugar in the upcoming season, and therefore, the government should grant permission for sugar exports.

It is noteworthy that the absence of India in the international market this season has been advantageous for Brazil.
