Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today lay the foundation stone of grain-based ethanol projects at Sugauli and Lauriya in Bihar.

This initiative is expected to bring a significant financial boon to maize-producing farmers. Similar to sugarcane, farmers supplying maize will receive payment within a few days of the supply.

The commencement of ethanol production from the plant is anticipated to bring substantial income to maize farmers.

Bihar is on the road to becoming the ethanol production hub in India, with many investors keen to invest in biofuel production in the state. The government is also leaving no stone unturned to boost ethanol production from maize.
