The Union Cabinet has approved a subsidy of Rs 24,420 crore on P&K fertilisers for the upcoming kharif season. As per the decision, farmers can continue to purchase DAP at Rs 1,350 per quintal. The Cabinet has also given the green light to the Department of Fertilizers’ proposal to fix the Nutrient-Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for P&K fertilisers for the Kharif Season 2024-25. The inclusion of three new fertiliser grades under the NBS scheme has also been approved to reduce import dependence on DAP.
