In the near future, the bio-energy concept of complete utilization of sugarcane biomass, molasses and press mud will become pivotal for a sustainable sugarcane industry. Production of bio-energy will be one of the most proficient ways to achieve sustainable development. The sugar mills would need to transform from ‘Producers of Sugar’ to ‘Bio- Energy Hubs’ marking a change in the philosophy. The challenges, opportunities and methods to pursue this transformation are enormous.

In view of the above, Cogen India had successfully organized business meets on the theme ‘Sugar Factories: The Future Innovative Energy Hub’ for Northern (Lucknow, UP), Southern (Belagavi, Karnataka) and Western Regions (Pune, Maharashtra) during 2022-23.

As identified by Cogen, Madhya Pradesh stands to be one of the fastest developing State with substantial need for energy. About 42% of the energy generated in the State is from renewable sources. Madhya Pradesh is a part of Green Energy Corridor. It has a total renewable energy potential of approximately 30 GW from different sources. To tap this potential, the State has proactively supported private participation in development of projects by ensuring conducive policies, regulatory environment, support from State Power Utilities and other State Govt. Departments.

Cogen India announced the organization of a business meet on “Integrated Strategy for Harnessing Biomass Potential at Sugar Industries in Madhya Pradesh” on March 21, 2024 at Radisson Hotel, Bhopal, M.P.

The main objective of the Business Meet is to create awareness about the latest bio energy technologies as there is a need for developing flexi sugar factories producing sugar and ethanol as per relative economics and market demand

The eminent speakers and technology providers from the industry shall share their views through this platform.

Participants are requested to submit the duly filled registration form, along with the participation fees, by March 15, 2024.
