As per Govt. Faridpur is expecting a bumper crop this year.  Jute is the principal cash crop of the district.  This year Jute has been cultivated on 82,000 hectares as compared to 77,339 hectares last year.  Production is estimated at 7.4 lakh bales in the current season as compared to 7 lakh bales last year.
