Kichha, Uttarakhand: A sugar mill has paid farmers ₹14.49 crore for sugarcane delivered between January 21 and 31, 2024. This brings the total payment made to farmers for the current season to ₹60.43 crore, reported Live Hindustan.

The mill’s executive director, Trilok Singh Martolia, said on Wednesday that the payment was made through the RTGS system to the accounts of the sugarcane committees associated with the mill.

The mill has crushed a total of 23.05 lakh quintals of sugarcane so far this season, producing 2.41 lakh quintals of sugar with a recovery rate of 10.61%.
