Uttar Pradesh: District official warns sugar mills to improve cane price payments or face action

              Amroha, Uttar Pradesh: DCO Manoj Kumar Singh held a meeting with officials from sugar mills to discuss sugarcane price payments for the 2023-24 crushing season. He warned the officials of sugar mills to improve their performance in sugarcane payment or face consequences, reported Live Hindustan.

Singh emphasized the government’s priority of ensuring sugarcane price payments within 14 days of delivery during the current season. The meeting was called to address payment delays reported in the aforementioned mills. Singh warned that strict action would be taken if immediate improvements were not observed.

As of January 24, sugar mills in the district had purchased 247.32 lakh quintals of sugarcane from farmers.
