The government has given a gift to the sugarcane farmers in the cabinet meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Cabinet has approved an increase in sugarcane price by Rs 20 per quintal. Under this, the price of all three varieties of sugarcane has been increased by Rs 20 per quintal.
Earlier, regarding the sugarcane price, the state government had increased it by Rs 25 per quintal in 2021 also before the assembly elections. At present the price of normal sugarcane is Rs 340 per quintal and the price of Ageti Prajapati sugarcane is Rs 350 per quintal. In the cabinet meeting, the State Advised Price (SAP) of sugarcane purchased by all sugar mills including cooperative sector, corporation and private sector for the crushing season 2023-24 will be determined.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that a total of 18 proposals have been approved in the meeting.
According to Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, the cabinet has also approved the establishment of three private universities.
