Karnal: The Karnal cooperative sugar mill has produced 1.34 lakh metric quintal of sugar from 15.58 lakh quintal of sugarcane crushed during the current crushing season, reported Dainik Tribune Online.

The mill’s recovery rate of 10.38% is the highest in Haryana.

The mill has also implemented a policy of paying sugarcane farmers within five days of delivery. This has been well-received by farmers, who have reported no complaints about the mill’s payment process.

“We have a different payment schedule for farmers than other mills,” said Hitendra Kumar, managing director of the Karnal Cooperative Sugar Mill. “This allows us to pay farmers within five days of delivery, which is a major convenience for them.”
