The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) has reviewed the progress of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited's (HPCL) Second Generation (2G) bio-refinery plant in Bathinda, Punjab. The plant, which costs over ₹1,400 crore, aims to utilize paddy straw to produce ethanol for blending with petrol under the central government's ethanol blending program.
