Did G20 leaders reach a consensus?

The details and wording of the Delhi declaration are not known yet, and PM Modi's announcement surprised many.

 

Differences over war in Ukraine 

It was earlier reported that the declaration would be accepted if the member countries could reach a consensus, especially on the language related to the Ukraine war.

Reportedly, the G20 diplomats have arrived at a "compromise language" to describe the war in Ukraine as a full-scale invasion.

 

Global Biofuel Alliance

On Saturday, India also announced the launch of the Global Biofuel Alliance and urged G20 nations to join the initiative with a plea to take ethanol blending with petrol globally to 20%. "Today, the need of the hour is that all countries should work together in the field of fuel blending. Our proposal is to take an initiative at a global level to take ethanol blending in petrol up to 20%," PM Modi said, adding, "Or alternatively, we could work on developing another blending mix for the greater global good, one that ensures a stable energy supply while also contributing to climate security."
