After sweeping the local body elections, the Congress party panel, headed by the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress committee president Ashok Chavan, also won 18 seats out of 21 seats of Bhaurao Chavan co-operative sugar factory polls held in Nanded district. "All opposition parties were united against the Congress party, but we won with majority of the seats and comfortable margin. It shows that people have faith in the Congress party and its pro-farmer and pro-poor policies. It is the victory of the people," Ashok Chavan said.
Since the inception of this co-operative sugar factory, the panel headed by Mr Chavan has only ruled. As many as 7,780 voters out of 9,779 exercised their rights in this co-operative election.
Chavan said that this sweeping trend will be continued in the upcoming elections as well. "People have lost their trust in the incumbent BJP-led government. BJP has been creating the mess and they failed to handle the state administration as result there is no effective work at ground level. Besides, their communal agenda is also not accepted by the people," Chavan added.
