Sugar will now be available with wheat and rice at ration depo. In the first phase, the Yogi Government has decided to provide one kilo of sugar in a month to every Antyodaya cardholder at subsidized rates. In Aligarh division, around 96204 Antyodaya cardholders will get the benefit of this scheme which includes 24596 cardholders from Aligarh district, 27164 from Etah, 27593 from Kasgunj and 16851 from Hathras.
The distribution of sugar will start in October. On the orders of the Yogi government, a letter has been issued by the Commissioner of Food and Logistics Department instructing to distribute one kilo of sugar per month to all Antyodaya cardholders. Cooperative sugar mills are made responsible for supplying sugar and they assured to provide a full stock of October to December sugar in September itself in all districts.
Every month state government distributes wheat and rice to the ration cardholders. Under this, eligible Grahasti cardholders are getting five kg per unit ration every month which includes three kilos of wheat and 2 kilos of rice. However, Antyodaya cardholders are getting one time 35 kilos of ration which includes 20 kilos wheat and 15 kilos rice.
Now, due to the economic crisis during the lockdown in the corona pandemic, the poor are facing barriers in getting work therefore the state government has decided to distribute ration twice a month to all ration cardholders till November.
In the first week of the month, two rupees kilo of wheat and three rupees kilo of rice is given. In the third week of the month, one kilo of a gram is set free with wheat and rice.
