NANNING, May 26 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 China Sugar Expo has attracted over 800 companies worldwide, which concluded Sunday in Nanning, capital of southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
More than 30,000 participants around the world, including experts and businessmen in sugar industry, have attended the three-day expo, which covers 30,000 square meters and exhibits more than 100 kinds of products in the industry.
During the expo, the city of Chongzuo, known as the country's "sugar capital," has signed 13 projects which are worth 10.8 billion yuan (1.57 billion U.S. dollars).
The World Sugar Seminar was also held in the city, where heads and experts from International Sugar Organization, Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association, Indian Sugar Mills Association, and other companies and institutions worldwide have discussed and explored the development of sugar industry.
As China's largest sugar manufacturing base, Guanxi Zhuang Autonomous Region provides about 60 percent of the country's sucrose production.
