AGRI COMMODITIES INDEX DOWN 0.39% - Onion, Sugar Ease

The Agriwatch Agri Commodities Index dipped 0.39% to 107.01 during the week ended September 23, 2017 from 107.42 during the previous week as onion, sugar and cotton prices continued to ease while pulses, edible oils and cereals edged up. The base for the Index and all sub-Indices is 2014 (= 100). Five of the nine commodity group sub-Indices and 12 of the 29 individual commodity sub-Indices declined during the week.The commodity group sub-Index values and their weekly changes are: Cereals Index: 110.10 (+1.00%), Pulses Index: 141.96 (+0.34%), Vegetables Index: 66.68 (-9.71%), Edible Oils Index: 104.42 (+0.72%), Oilseeds Index: 92.56 (+0.04%), Spices Index: 95.90 (-0.61%), Sweeteners Index: 120.18 (-0.93%) and Other Non-Food Articles Index: 87.23 (-0.27%).
