The government may allow mills to sell 2 lakh tonne sugar that remained unsold from the quota released in August. Mills may be told to sell this sugar till September 10.

“We had released 22 lakh tonne for August to curb the rising prices of sugar. Mills have not been able to sell 2 lakh tonne. We may allow them to sell that unsold quantity till September 10,” said an official.
This decision will bring relief to consumers.
