Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Monday said Punjab would soon announce an attractive policy to give a big push to the renewable energy sector, especially generating power from biomass and solar energy. Sukhbir constituted a high-level committee under Chief Secretary Rakesh Singh with Secretary, Renewable Energy, Karan Avtar Singh, Secretary, Power, Anirudh Tiwari, as members to give final touches to the policy so that the state could achieve the target of 500 MW power from biomass and 100 MW from solar power.
