An empowered group of ministers (EGoM) on food is scheduled to meet on March 26 to consider further exports of up to one million tonnes of sugar. The EGoM, headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, would also review wheat and non-basmati rice exports, which were allowed in September last year in view of record output.
